The DotNetNuke Design Challenge (Skin Contest) was announced late last year during the North American OpenForce in Las Vegas by co-founder Scott Willhite as a commitment to bring high quality DotNetNuke design to the community for free. The DotNetNuke Experience has been working hard on bringing the contest together for all designers around the world to 1) allow them to have the opportunity to gain more personal brand exposure and expertise, and 2) provide a repository of high quality free skins for the community.
Thanks to Scott's leadership, and the commitment of time and effort from Timo Breumelhof, Salar Golestanian, and Chris Pattera, the skin contest has attracted many respected DNN designers around the world to submit their great designs.
We also had a great panel of judges from different backgrounds help with the voting. These are Web standards and DotNetNuke experts who helped rate the markup, design, use of framework, ease of learning, etc. They have successfully completed their tasks and the results have been returned to the DNN Experience team so the public voting can begin.
I also managed to have time to enter the contest with a submission in the business category called Cuong Dang Collaborate Design. This skin package was designed and developed using a Web standards approach. The layout and skin construction was implemented using a CSS-based approach that takes advantage of CSS3 to achieve certain design elements without using many images.
You can view the skin demo at http://skins.dotnetnuke.com/cuongdangcollaborate or view the entire list of entries to decide which is your favorite and vote. If you’re a DotNetNuke enthusiast, please show your support to the framework by voting for your favorite. Once you vote, you’ll automatically be entered into a daily drawing to win a free book. So go ahead, if you like our design, please vote for us, or just pick one of your favorites among the submissions.
