Texas Instruments
Training Intranet
Overview
With over 30,000 employees spanning the globe, Texas Instruments (TI) struggled with the daily collaboration and training of wide-spread staff. Because employee management is vital to maintaining their leadership status in the electronic industry, TI sought a solution that would provide seamless integration and accessibility.
In 2006, TI began an initiative to provide online-based training and course testing that would lead to certification of employees in different fields. This required a system with scalability to meet the demands of 30,000 employees in a real time information environment, as well as seamless integration with internal systems including PeopleSoft and outside database repositories for media, HR and other information.
Solution
R2i developed a customized intranet solution to effectively manage this human resources challenge. Using DotNetNuke® (DNN®), the world's largest Microsoft open-source project, and a custom developed intranet system, R2i was able to quickly build a cost-effective solution that provided the strong security and portal base framework TI needed.
