From the February 2006 Bi4ce newsletter -

I have been reading The World Is Flat by Thomas Friedman. His assertion is that we are in the midst of an unprecedented revolution. A period where millions of people around the world are 'connected' due to, amongst other things, the availability of information, lowering of trade barriers and advancement of technology.

This alone is not surprising but the way it is effecting everyday circumstance is significant. Friedman relays story upon story demonstrating what he terms ‘globalization’: where the catalyst of change is not your government or large businesses but rather empowered individuals and small organizations that now compete successfully with these entities.

Open source systems like DNN and the people that support them are significant pieces in this puzzle. In terms of Bi4ce, our market is no longer just mid-Atlantic USA but literally, the world. We owe much of this to the DNN community and its role in globalization (and a lot of hard work by Bi4ce engineers). Take this month’s survey poll to see how DNN is influencing your world.

Happy Nuking!
