The conference started on Day 2 with a DNN keynote speech by Shaun Walker. He outlined DNN's current state and outlined the future roadmap unveiling ambitious plans for the next major release (DNN 5). DNN 5 is actually going to be named Cambrian and will include some very exciting new feature none greater than what was termed 'Workflow'. Workflow would include publishing, process workflow and versioning. In addition there will be great strides toward template based solutions and social networking features/content building. He had a Microsoft presenter demonstrate integration with MS Live by doing a dual Live login and IM real time status all embedded in the DNN portal instance. Also the guys from G4 discussed their large Australian Football and Rugby project that is highly scalable. The point of showing off this marquee project was the sheer volume of concurrent users and DNN' performance and ability to scale across server farm based architecture. There were approximately 400 people in the room to hear this keynote which represented about 10% of the overall attendees at the conference.

We ran into other core team members including Charles Nurse, Bill Walker and Vicenz and had several other DNN vendors show up at the booth including Eric Peerless from Mad Development.

Had a great conversation with the crew from Telerik as they were explaining their penetration of the developer market and showed off some of the latest products. Their products are not only strong but visually are brilliant in my opinion.

Off to the show...
