Can GoMap do this?

I am using one of those 'other' form modules, as I am a rookie and ListX and your other products seemed to have a steep (yet powerful) learning curve.

I have a bunch of records stored in XML and in the DNN DB related to hotels (e.g., name, address, zip, average price, et al).

I can create a form that asks the user to set some search parameters and then query the DB - say by state and city - so wondering if I could then pass these parameters to GoMap and have them all ploted (and populate the text bubbles with a few other fields (like average price, etc, also stored in the db)?

I hope this makes sense.

I was looking at another map module and willing to pay the pricey price tag for it, but after playing around with GoMap, I think this might be doable with your module...and fully willing to donate to the cause upwards the cost of the other module I was willing to splurge for. <img src='desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'>

Thoughts?

GoMap will only support its own xml format. You review it by creating a Map that uses an XML file for storage. GoMap supports basic parameter replacement. Use the Module Help from the action menu to view the online GoMap help. This should be a good starting point for reviewing how to create a query with variables.

Eric

Is there no way to have a GoMap on a page with a ListX and have the ListX plot points directly on the GoMap - without the GoMap reading anything - or even having the GoMap directly access the same client side data the listx is displaying?

myearwood,

I answered this in your other post, but the answer is yes. You can plot points by mimicking the way GoMap plots points in Directory mode. Take a look at the javascript generated by GoMap in Directory mode. Your best aid in this this process will be to use the "FireBug" browser plugin for Firefox.

Thanks,
-Eric
