I posted this feature request in another forum, but this is a better place for it:

It'd be nice to have a system of manually placing filtering controls, such as Paging, Records Per Page, and Alphabetic Filter controls. That way we can control where in the ListItem/Header & Footer the controls could go. A similar functionality is already present for the Paging control, but only when using AJAX:

<div id=lxP[*ModuleID]></div>

I would envision the functionality like so:

<div class="alphabetFilterStyle">[ALPHABETIC, FILTER]</div>

or

<Table class="recordsTable">
<tr>
<td>
[RECORDS]
</td>
</tr>
</table>

Which would then render the physical control (if enabled in the General options). This would give developers (and more importantly, picky/whiny designers) a lot more flexibility in the placement, display, and repetition of the various built-in controls.

Just my $0.02!

Brian - you are right on track! Actually, we already have this capability slated for the 2.0 version. 2.0 essentially makes everything templatable, so - you can create your own template for pagers, filters, and plug them in anywhere you require.

Wow - A Fast answer, and exactly what I wanted to hear!

Not to put you on the spot, but is there any approximate release date for 2.0?

We don't have an exact date yet. The timeline has full scale development occuring in early 2007. There are a number of projects slated for development during that time period that have pushed our need for the latest version, so it is a *must have* from our standpoint. There are a few projects which we need to focus attention on before we push hard on the 2.0 version. The most important of which is Dotnetnuke:Map, as well as a slew of samples and videos which we are currently putting together to make ListX easier for people - and give a full library of functionality from the start.
