The ASP.NET datagrid control allows a table of records to be presented and each row can then be edited "in place" i.e. on clicking edit the read-only labels become editable textboxes in the row clicked.
This is more friendly sometimes than launching into a new page where the record can be edited.
Will you consider this for ListX? I know there is probably a way of doing it now but it would involve coding a separate ListX module for the edit view of the grid. What I am imagining is having a space in the setup area for the Detail rows to enter an alternative HTML string, for example:

Detail
- Default view (i.e. for the read-only view of the row)
- Alternative view (i.e. for the edit view of the row)

There would also be an action that could be attached to a button to cause the row to switch from Default view to Alternative view.

Actually, the inline edit feature is something I am working currently tasked on the logistics of the operations. ListX 2.0, which is a sweeping change on the Administration UI, also provide a much greater architecture for scalability of your ListX projects. Part of this venture is an anticipate granularization of the AJAX library for ListX, so - instead of the classic ajax module for ListX, in which the module itself is replaced with the new content, the anticipate is replacement of just sections of the current module. I'll keep you posted on progress there.

Regarding the AJAX feature - does that mean that, for example, on clicking Update for a detail row, just the HTML for that row could be replaced (e.g. to return it to read-only mode) leaving the rest of the module HTML in place?
