I really need a sample and I think I can make this thing work.. so far using the samples from teh download section have ended miserably.. they dont install.

I am running DNN 4.5.3 and need an example on how to do this...

1. Have a parameters screen... take in a combo box populated from the database, take in a txt box validating that something is entered before submit, and show how to handle radio buttons.

2. Pass this info to a view that runs a proc using the variables.

3. Allow me to link from one of the fields returned to a detail view.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

Thank you

Hi tknman0700,

Pauldes provided a very simple example here: http://dnn.bi4ce.com/Support/Forums/tabid/106/forumid/22/tpage/1/view/topic/postid/1499/Default.aspx

Let me know if you have any trouble with this example.

Regards

Ok let me ask you this.

My goal is to have a parameters section and a section with report results...
Do you have to put the parameters into one module and the detail output into another module or is there a way to put parameters into a header grouping of a report?

I just need some basic direction here.. I am not asking for someone to code this for me.
The example given links between pages for parameters and report.. I am looking to have a basic report where parameters are at the top and the report is at the bottom... I have not found a simple example like this.

I think I am very close I just need clarification of the general concepts of designing these things.

Thanks

Hi tknman0700,

Both are possible, the difference will be in the aspect of your form: it will be smoother and easier to maintain to have 2 different listX modules.
Find attached a very simple example using 2 different listX module and searching users by username.
You have to add also the following lines in the header of the module in charge of the display to allow lxFetch to refresh it (options-->settings-->Advanced Settings-->header)
<Script>
var modUserList = [ModuleID,System];
</script>

lmk

Not sure what I am doing wrong but I load the input and there is nothing in the format section.. as a result I have nothing on my page...

I have two modules.. input and output.
The input I loaded the xml and added the reference to the script as requested.

The output I loaded the xml and thats it... the output I see the query as

SELECT * FROM Users where username like ''

Any ideas here?
