Background-Images in Firefox

I have Navigator 2.2.5 running on a DNN 3.2.2 install. I was having problems with the background in Firefox and Mozilla.
I want to use a background image via CSS. With the Microsoft IE it works fine, but with Firefox and Mozilla there is just the white text, no backround-color or the image.
Is there a trick to realize this?

I am in need of a quick solution to these issues. Please help

The CSS looks like this:

.SXMenuActive A
{
    color: white;
    margin-left: 20px;
    width: 100%;
    background:url(media/vertical_button_bread.jpg) no-repeat transparent;
  }

background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-color: transparent;


IE tends to introduce shorthand notations that do not work in the other browsers. This should, however, work in all browsers.

I tried this, but it still doesn´t work :-(
under firefox and mozilla there are only textual links in he menu...

Make sure your “media” folder is in correct spot for the CSS to find your background Image.
