Thankyou everyone!
Its working now.

Now that you showed me how to see the errors from the query, I was able to use that info to get tech support at PowerDNN to resolve my access problem. Also, on the local machine, I was able to see that the quick builder was creating sql with what were being seen as errors. Not sure about the details of that (will work on that next), but by cleaning it up to the minimum... bingo the data came through. And your little tutorials even helped me get a jump start on understanding the manual..

So Im on my way...

Thanks to you all!

Miamiray,

Since I also use PowerDNN as my host, what was the problem?

First I didnt know that database usernames needed to be the same.

Then when I realized that, I went to their control panel and tried to add the username for the DNN database to my other database, but the control panel would not let me do that, saying that the username already existed.

So I contacted tech support, and they mistakenly got the problem mixed up and thought the DB users were ok, and the problem was just with their plesk panel not displaying the DB user.

But when I found out about how to see the query errors in listx, then I was able to see clearly that there was a security access issue.

So I asked PowerDNN tech support again and they said .. oops... and manually added the DNN user to the other DB .

.. and all was well.
