I have a setup using an online helpdesk software package / web site, Zimbra as the email server, and several sites utilizing listx / OWS . One feature I have is a little module that allows my clients to submit a help desk request via email to the Zimbra server where the help desk software picks it up and creates a ticket. We have the same setup also using Microsoft Exchange and a different helpdesk package.

At any rate, email sent from ListX, (haven't tested this in OWS) was being sent to the Zimbra box okay, but when it is being picked up by the help desk software (Kayako) the first line of the message body was being cut off.

This worked fine using the Exchange server and the old helpdesk, but the new helpdesk in combination with Zimbra just cut off the first line of text.

I looked at the messgae being generated by ListX and it appears that there is no blank line seperating the header and the body of the message as outlined in RFC 2822 Internet Message Format item 2.1. (Please understand that this post is meant to convey a workaround, and should not be construed as a critique. I love ListX / OWS and we have built a whole web based solution around DNN because of the power of this tool.)

The solution was quite simple actually, I inserted a blank line as the first line in the body of the message and everything is good.

Just thought someone would like to know.
